Chameleon
Brass
It's All Been Arranged
Chameleon Brass are a vibrant, entertaining ensemble who have been together for several years. They have performed at such venues as the Millennium Dome, Croydon’s Fairfield Halls, and London’s St John’s, Smith Square. All the
members of the group have worked on Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now! scheme and are committed to
music in education. They have recently been sponsored by Friends Provident to commission and perform a work for children’s choir by Martin Prynn, to encourage children to take up brass, entitled The Family Brass, which will be touring the UK in 2006/7.
Individually the members of the group have performed with the RPO, the Ulster Orchestra, the National Symphony, the London Concert Orchestra, and the orchestras of English National Opera and the Royal Opera. This is their first album and it is made up of arrangements, many of them by members of the group, of pieces that their audiences have responded to and that they have enjoyed performing. The pieces are mainly on the “lighter side”: the kind of music the group feel they excel in.
